1. What is the AI Content Detector?

With the growing prevalence of AI in content creation, clients have shared concerns and requests for validation of the originality of orders they place on WriterAccess.  The AI Content Detector is a feature designed to detect the probability of AI-generated content on each order. Clients risk search engine ranking penalties at Google and other search engines if the content they create and publish is generated by natural language processing (AI).

2. How does the AI Content Detector work?

AI content detectors analyze the patterns of any body of text to forecast the probability that the text has been created with a natural language processor.

Clients will have the option to enable the AI Content Detector when placing an order of 300 words or more. When you submit content for one of these orders, we will scan the content for characteristics of AI-generated content.

If your content has a high probability score, you will receive an email notification indicating that the order must be revised before submitting it to the customer. The results will also be available in the content order.

3. How can I check the results of the AI Content Detector?

After you provide your content to clients, AI Content Detector will quickly scan and rate it. The scoring process takes approximately 10-15 minutes after submission. You can always view the score of your content on its order page. Presently, the score is exclusively available within the talent portal, and clients are unaware of it.

4. What does the score percentage mean? How can I interpret the results?

When the AI Content Detector gives content a score of 10%, this doesn't signify that 90% of the article is authored by humans and 10% by artificial intelligence; it simply means there's only a 10% probability that the content was created with AI.

5. Is the AI Content Detector technology dependable and accurate?

After extensive research and testing, we determined Originality.AI to be the most accurate technology currently available. Our AI Content Detector is utilizing their API to provide scores.

6. Do you offer additional insights on how I can modify the content if it has been flagged?

To help writers identify the areas of the text with the probability of AI-generated content, WriterAccess will provide detailed results identifying blocks of text with their respective scores. This will be live in the near future. Additionally, we wrote an article with advice on crafting content that is more perceived as human.

7. What happens if Originality.ai is unavailable for a period of time?

If the AI Content Detector tool is unavailable or not working, writers and clients will be notified.

8. What should I do if my content was mistakenly categorized as AI-generated, but it is, in fact, entirely human-made and created without the aid of any artificial intelligence writing tools?

If this happens, please get in touch with our support team by opening a ticket in our Help Desk, and we will review the content for you. Please include your order number with your ticket.

9. Can I drop an order if I do not agree with the scoring?

Yes, but failure to deliver on any order you accept will result in rebuttal opportunities and the tiered penalties we have in place now, with no changes to those current policies at this time.

10. Will there be additional pay for revisions required for high AI probability scores?

Our current model does not include additional payment for revisions.

11. Will clients be able to view all versions of an order when revisions are required for high probability scores?

No, the clients will only be able to see the content after the AI Content Detector probability score is deemed acceptable and the adjustments requested by the AI Content Detection engine are made. The content will receive an "AI verified" badge stating it was scanned by our AI Content Detector tool.

12. How do we accommodate client instructions that directly result in high probability scores?

Writers should continue to write for clients in the same manner, focusing on quality and execution of the client's instructions.  If a certain industry or writing style is causing the higher probability scores, exceptions will be allowed to override the scores on orders by assistance via a Help Desk ticket.

13. How does it work for Editor orders and proofreading add-ons?

Currently, the AI Content Detector is unavailable for Editor orders and other add-ons like proofreading. It will only be scanning new original content created by writers.

14. When is it acceptable to use AI tools?

Any AI tool that does not write the actual content itself is acceptable. Examples include those that assist with spelling/grammar suggestions, topic ideation, article outline creation, and keyword research/strategy.

15. Is it acceptable for clients to request that writers incorporate AI-generated content in orders?

Clients can request and provide AI-generated content to be used in their orders. If an order receives a high probability score for this reason, create a Help Desk ticket, and the WriterAccess team can create an override.

16. When will clients be able to access the AI Content Detector?

Soon, clients will be able to use the AI Content Detector - but the choice is theirs. Each client can choose whether to enable it or not when placing orders.
