How e-mail sending works on Rock Stage

In this article, you will learn how the default e-mail sending settings work on sites that are hosted with us.

Does Rock Stage have an e-mail management service?

Currently, we do not offer an e-mail management service. Because of that, whenever the subject is brought up, some questions might arise on what exactly Rock Stage can offer. Right now, it is not possible to customize your e-mail addresses as, for example, myemail@mydomain.com or manage inboxes and outboxes on Stage's platform. If you require such features, you need to configure plugins that integrate with such third-party applications.

Sending e-mails through WordPress

However, there is also the possibility of sending e-mails through WordPress itself, such as e-mails informing about the creation of a new user in the admin panel. Besides that, it is also possible to use this system for more complex situations, like letting someone on your team know that a contact form was filled.

In order to do that, you must install an e-mail sending plugin like WP STMP MAILER, which allows your messages to be sent directly through PHP, without the need to configure another e-mail manager. In this case, your e-mail will be sent through our host, without the need to sign up for another service!

How it works in practice

First, you need to configure your e-mail sending plugin. Then, you need to get in touch with our support team through stage.suporte@rockcontent.com or chat to request the service to be enabled and explain why you need it. In up to 2 business days, you will hear back from us.

The name of the sender of your e-mail will be the same as your site's name that is configured in our platform, and the address will be your Rock Stage identifier followed by our domain, something like 9fe4as4das4d5fa4cd0@blogs.rockstage.io.

We will also track the e-mails that are sent to non-existing recipients and are marked as spam. We can also block the sending of e-mails if those reach a rate of 7% and 0,3% respectively. This is necessary because, if those rates rise, many providers might see e-mails sent by our server as untrustworthy and direct them automatically to the spam folder. This is also why we reserve the right to enable this feature only after analyzing on a case by case basis.

And, of course, if you have any further questions, we are available to help you through our support channels!
