Learn how to allow visitors to share a link to your Ion experience on social media

In this support post, we discuss some tips and tricks when setting up your Social Share icons!

Social Share micro-themes can be applied to the Social Share container to control styling
“Icons: Hidden” micro-theme removes default Social Share icons to allow custom content to be used in remaining containers
“Orientation: Vertical” can be used to arrange social icons vertically in a single column
Fixed positioning can be applied to the Social Share container using the Layout style section within your creative studio to keep social icons on the left or right side of the page as visitors scroll

Facebook recommends using images that are 200 x 200kb
The image picker does not currently support image editing when selecting an OG image

Best practice: Use OG tags to specify content instead of share content variables, when possible, to help ensure the same content is shared across social platforms
Content variables take precedence over OG Tag content
After setting up OG tags and/or Facebook share content, run the live URL through Facebook debugger to fetch a new scrape which will update the content that is shared on Facebook
To optimize content on Linkedin, debug issues, and refresh data, use Post Inspector.
OG Tag editor only available for Quick Start experiences and base layout
Content insertion is not currently supported for Social Share features
{{deepLinkURL}} is one exception that can be used within the URL option within the share content variables for social icons
Enable deep linking on any page housing a social icon set to share the {{deepLinkURL}} so it can be crawled for content and traffic can be driven to that deep link
