What languages do you offer for translation services, and what are the fees?

Translation fees are below the market average and vary based on the difficulty and scope of the project. We recommend working with our service team if you have bigger translation projects for personal recommendations for a translator.

For translation services, we cover the following languages:

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • English
  • Finnish
  • French
  • German
  • Greek
  • Hebrew
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Norwegian
  • Persian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Swedish
  • Turkish

Do we only get access to Copyscape for platform content, or can we run Copyscape for our own content?

For any orders you place for writing services at WriterAccess, Copyscape is included with no additional charge or fee. We are adding a Copyscape option for customers and writers to use, but that will require additional fees to cover our costs with Copyscape.

How do I pay for the membership?

You can currently pay for membership with Visa or MasterCard.

Do you accept PayPal?

Yes and No. We do accept PayPal for content purchases. But we do not currently accept PayPal for initial signup. This feature upgrade is, however, listed on the Product Roadmap for up-votes to potentially include in our platform.

Why do I pay before placing my order?

Your payment goes into an escrow account to ensure you have the funds required to pay for the services rendered by the freelancer. Escrow deposits for orders and projects are not paid out until you approve the work, so your delight is 100% guaranteed.

What is your split with freelancers? How much are they paid on each order?

Unlike many platforms, we’re fully transparent with our fees. We pay our freelancers 70% of any purchase amount for writing services. If you paid $100, the writer would get $70.

We keep 30% as our fee to help us:

  • Fund growth
  • Build software
  • Make improvements
  • Pay for things like our delight guarantee (customer does not pay for any order that does not meet their approval after at least one round of revisions)
  • Payroll services to freelancers, which now includes cash withdrawals before the normal pay runs every two weeks

If I fund content creation services with $100, and spend only $80, can I get the $20 refund?

Yes. You have 30 days to get a refund back on any deposit amount you’ve put in your account, subject to a 10% processing fee.

Could you explain your refund policy for account balances?

Thanks for the clarification request on our deposit policy. We'll also share the lowdown on our terms and conditions.

Here’s a quick recap of how it all works, in plain English.

  • Customers are required to make deposits for content creation services separate from membership fees.
  • Customers can get a refund for any and all deposits anytime within 30 days, subject to a 10% processing fee.
  • The 10% refund processing fee covers our credit cards fees for the incoming and outgoing funds.
  • After 30 days, your deposits remain at WriterAccess for future orders for an unlimited period of time unless your account is inactive for one year.
  • If you fail to login to your account within one year, we close your account after sending multiple email notifications alerting you of the upcoming closure.
  • If you login to your account at any time after making a deposit, your account termination date is updated to extend one year from the date of your most recent login.
  • Any changes in our terms and conditions are posted on your dashboard; any subsequent deposits made confirm your agreement.

Can I pay with invoices instead of credit cards?

Yes. WriterAccess offers negotiable pre-pay invoicing services for US-based companies who qualify, saving credit card transaction fees and aligning with your vendor payment policies.

What is the cost for content when hiring freelancers through your platform?

The cost of each content piece is dependent on the star level of the freelancer you select (star levels are given based on the writer's experience and subject matter expertise). The ranges vary from 2 cents per word or $25 per project up to more than $2 per word or $200 per project.

Could you explain your star rating system and content pricing?

The lowest star rating begins at 2 cents per word for writers and $25 per project for designers. We created a star-level slider that nicely explains what you can expect when you pay more money for freelance services.

Star levels have a fixed fee per word. Yet we start out freelancers at levels often below what the marketplace will prove they should be making. So look to hire NEW talent for the best deals by visiting the Search option and using the Show New freelancers feature.

What can I expect to pay for a well-written, industry specific, jargon-free, keyword-optimized blog post?

For the higher-quality content you seem to need, I would probably go with a 5 or 6-star writer. Five-star writer rates start at 8 cents per word. Experiment a bit, try and 5-star vs. 6-star writer on shorter articles, before you go all-in with a larger 1200-word article.

How can I get lower content pricing on orders with freelancers?

You're in the driver's seat when it comes to pricing projects at WriterAccess. However, freelancers are in the passenger seat with the final decision to accept your rates, agree to your terms, deliver on your proposed requirements, and select projects where they can exceed your expectations to boost their performance and ratings.

A great place to start the negotiation process is to post a Casting Call with your specifications and either seek prices from freelancers or suggest a price for the work. Freelancers will apply for the project, submit their prices, and/or agree to your prices and terms, and you can pick the winner and launch the order to one of the freelancers.

Another way to manage pricing challenges is to create a Love List of numerous freelancers with a higher star level than the price you propose paying for the project.  All the freelancers on the list will have access to review the order, and possible select the order for execution and delivery.

Finally, Crowd Orders are another way to lower costs by 10% on each order. You select the star level for the order, and any writer with that star rating or above will be eligible to review and select the order.

How do I hire designers and how does pricing work with designers?

WriterAccess offers access to freelance designers, illustrators, animators, photographers, and videographers. All designer orders are priced by the project. You can name your price and post an order to a freelancer. Or you can post a Call to find designers interested and available for your project with pricing you can either suggest or request.

The pool of designers is purposely much smaller than our pool of writers, with about 500 freelancer designers, as we want to get work out to a smaller group before we expand.

I looked through your Specialty Marketplace. What would a content manager or content strategist do?

Turns out the Content Strategists (CS) and Content Marketing Managers (CMM) are really THE key for content marketing success. ALL of our larger customers using WriterAccess have a CS or CMM working in the platform daily, executing content plans they’ve developed to achieve content marketing goals.

You’ll have access to WriterAccess Academy immediately upon sign up, offering a 22-hour Content Strategy MasterClass lead by 11 world-class trainers. We walk students through the five pillars of content strategy, including content planning, creation, optimization, distribution, and performance.

This masterclass is amazing, and free, for both our customers and freelancers. You can earn your certification badge, which freelancers showcase on the profile pages.

You can also join our platform for access to our Specialty Marketplace to hire Content Strategists and Content Managers for projects.

How much does content cost?

You purchase content separately from your software subscription fee. You can place orders with freelancers at their preferred rate (visible within their profiles), or request custom quotes. Escrow deposits for orders and projects are not paid out until you approve the work, so your delight is 100% guaranteed.
