Analytics Glossary

The metrics below are organized by how a user would navigate to the page displaying these metrics. Some of these metrics are only available in the Enhanced and Enterprise analytics packages. If you do not have access to certain metrics below and you would like to have access to them, please reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager, and we'll be happy to discuss upgraded your account to include the appropriate analytics package.

Dashboard > Measure > Overview

Active Audience - The number of audience members who commented, liked, discussed, or shared at least one piece of content during the selected time period.

Ad Impressions - The total number of times all combined ads have been displayed. For example, 3 ads on one page with 10 watchers equals 30 impressions.

Avg. time on page - Total engagement minutes divided by total page views.

Conversion Rate - Percentage of engaged audience members who completed the conversion goal if set

Engaged Audience - The number of individual people who viewed at least one piece of content during the selected time period. Unlike unique page views, this number is not tied to sessions and will never expire. An individual person will only ever count as one engaged audience member no matter how many pieces of content they visit.

Engagement Minutes - The total number of minutes spent by all visitors on all pieces of content. Seconds are rounded up to the next minute.

New Visitors - The number of individual users that visited at least one piece of content during the selected time period, and have never visited a piece of content previous to the selected time period. Return: The number of individual users that visited at least one piece of content during the selected time period, and have visited a piece of content previous to the selected time period.

Page Views - The total number of times all pieces of content were viewed during the selected time period. If a user clicks reload after reaching the page, this is counted as an additional pageview. If a user navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, an additional pageview is recorded as well.

Social Shares - The total number of times all pieces of content were shared to a social network during the selected time period.

Top Devices - The devices used to visit a piece of content, ordered by number of visits. Green represents the percentage increase over the previous period, red a decrease.

Top Performing Content By Engagement Minutes More information - The pieces of content that generated the most engagement minutes during the selected time period.

Top Locations - The location of an audience member who viewed a piece of content, ordered by number of visits. Green represents the percentage increase over the previous period, red a decrease.

Unique Sessions - A unique pageview is an aggregation of page views that are generated by the same user during the same session, during the selected time period. A unique page view represents the number of sessions during which that page was viewed one or more times. If a user is inactive on your site and the session expires, any future activity is attributed to a new session. Users that leave your site and return before the session has expired are counted as part of the original session. Users that close their browser will be attributed to a new session when they next visit your content.

Likes - The number of times that your audience liked posts that appealed to them.

Live Watchers - The total number of users currently viewing the content.

Poll / Quiz Answers - Number of individual votes collected on all polls in that piece of content.

Posts - The total number of posts in a stream. Not inclusive of comments.

Published Comments - The total number of approved comments submitted to a stream. Not inclusive of discussion comments, or comments still in moderation.

Return Visitors - The number of individual users that visited at least one piece of content during the selected time period, and have visited a piece of content previous to the selected time period.

Top Devices - The devices used to visit this piece of content ordered by number of visits.

Top Locations - The location of an audience member who viewed this piece of content ordered by number of visits.

Total Comments - The total number of comments submitted to a stream or that are still in moderation. Not inclusive of discussion comments.

Unique Users Who Posted/Commented - The total number of users who interacted with your content by posting or leaving comments, whether their comments were added to your stream’s stream or not. This also includes the number of client users (writers, editors, etc.) that have contributed to the stream in the Live back-end.
