Pointing your domain
Let's learn how to point your GoDaddy subdomain to your blog on Stage:
1. Log in to your GoDaddy account, go to ‘Domain’, select the desired domain and click on ‘Domain settings’;
2. Click on ‘Manage DNS’ and then on ‘Add’;
3. Now, we will need to access the Stage dashboard to get the information needed for pointing. Access Stage in a new tab on the home page and click on Dashboard;
4. With the Dashboard open, enter the Domain submenu;
5. Your Domain's pointing settings will be as follows:
Name field: displays the domain or subdomain you want to point to. Example: If you are pointing your domain, it will probably be something like mydomain.com. If you are pointing to a subdomain, it should probably be like: blog.mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com, etc.
Target Field: value generated by our service to which you will point your domain or subdomain.
Important note: there is a difference between pointing to the Domain and the Subdomain. The subdomain uses the main domain and is distinguished by adding another name in addition to the domain name. For example: blog. mysitedomain.com is a subdomain, whereas mysitedomain.com is the main domain that you acquired in Registro Br.
Domain Pointing
GoDaddy does not allow you to use CNAME for pointing your main domain. In your case you want to point to your Domain, you must do it as follows:
After clicking on ‘Add’, all records linked to the domain in GoDaddy will appear. To point to your domain, scroll down to the end of the records and create a type A record and point it to IP 151.139.128.10
Select the Type: A. In ‘Host’, type only @, in ‘Points to’, type 151.139.128.10 and in ‘TTL’, select ‘1 hour’.
There you have it! Your subdomain is already pointed and the deadline is 48h for the the url to be working properly.
Subdomain Pointing
After clicking on ‘Add’, all records linked to the domain in GoDaddy will appear. To point your domain, scroll down to the end of the records and create a CNAME record.
Select the Type: ‘CNAME’. In ‘Host’, type the additional address of the subdomain, in ‘Points to’, type the Target written in RockStage and in ‘TTL’, select ‘1 hour’.
Note: The first field must be filled with the additional value of your domain. In the example above, the value was ‘blog’ so that we could have the subdomain blog.mysitedomain.com as a result.
This field must be filled in according to the subdomain you want to point to.
There you have it! Your subdomain is already pointed and the deadline is 48h for the url to be working properly.
Security Certificate Validation (Safe Website or Blog)
Follow the next steps to enable this feature:
Access the SSL dashboard on RockStage dashboard. For it to work correctly, the website must have been pointed in the domain manager and added to our platform. The dashboard will look like this:
You should choose the option ‘Force HTTPS’ (High Security) and save this setting for your website to load in safe mode.
Important!
If you are a customer and your projects have been migrated by the Rock Stage Team, the Name and Target information, in addition to being available in the Rock Stage dashboard access, were also informed in the email of the conclusion of the migration process.
