How To Delete Data

Learn how to delete data from your console

When testing an experience, we recommend doing so within a Sandbox campaign. When everything is done, you can copy that creative into a live campaign so the respondent data associated with it comes from live traffic and would not include test data.

For times when you need to test in a live campaign or if you just want to clear test data out of your Sandbox campaign, you have a few options.

Delete Respondents by Campaign

You can delete all respondent data that has been collected in a given campaign by clicking the "Delete Respondents" link in the top right corner of your campaign management screen. This option should only be used if there is only test data in that campaign you are okay with deleting.

Automatically Delete Respondent Data

The ion platform also gives you the ability to have your data automatically deleted within the hour from the console regardless of what URL you visit. To set this up, you will need to know your IP address. Once you have your IP address handy, you can take the following steps to make the console automatically delete your respondent data:

  1. Hover over the Settings tab and click "Manage IP Restrictions"
  2. Click + IP button
  3. Enter your IP address into the corresponding textbox
  4. Select "Allow but auto-delete tracking hourly" from the Restriction dropdown menu
  5. Save

*NOTE: This screen can only be accessed by console owners. If you do not have access to this area of your console, please reach out to your console owner to set up an IP restriction.

Delete by IP Address

If you would prefer to manually delete your respondent data, you can delete specific IP addresses without setting up an IP restriction. To do so, follow the below steps:

  1. Hover over Settings and click Manage Capacity
  2. Enter your IP address into the IP address textbox
  3. Click the red delete button
  4. Confirm deletion

*NOTE: This screen can only be accessed by console owners. If you do not have access to this area of your console, please reach out to your console owner to set up an IP restriction.
